1. Publisher
KiloOctet is a sole proprietorship (micro-entreprise) registered in France.
SIREN: 531 026 136
Contact: [email protected]
2. General Principles
KiloOctet designs its applications with respect for your privacy. We apply the principle of data minimization: we only collect data strictly necessary for the app to function. No data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.
3. Locally Stored Data
Your access codes, addresses, and notes are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud sync (see section 4).
4. iCloud Sync (optional)
If you enable sync, your data is transmitted via Apple CloudKit and stored in your personal iCloud account. This transfer is end-to-end encrypted by Apple. KiloOctet has no access to your iCloud data and does not operate any intermediary servers.
5. Location
The app uses geolocation (Core Location) for two functions:
- Geofencing: to notify you when you approach a saved address. The device monitors up to 20 geographic zones. No location history is stored.
- Address auto-fill: when adding a new code, your current position is used to suggest an address. The position is neither stored nor transmitted.
Location access is optional. The app works without it, with reduced functionality.
6. Contacts
The app can access your contacts solely to import access codes from the "notes" field of your contact cards. No contact data is stored, copied, or transmitted by the app. Access is one-time and at your initiative.
7. Face ID / Touch ID
Biometric authentication is handled entirely by the iOS system (LocalAuthentication framework). KiloOctet never has access to your biometric data.
8. Notifications
Notifications are generated locally on your device (geofencing notifications). No third-party server is used for sending notifications.
9. Analytics and Tracking
Doorli contains no analytics tools, no third-party tracking SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no cookies. We do not track your app usage.
10. Data Collected by Apple
Apple may collect anonymized usage data if you have enabled analytics sharing in iOS settings. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
11. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and French data protection law, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
- Right to rectification: correct your data directly in the app.
- Right to erasure: delete your data by removing the app or deleting entries individually.
- Right to data portability: your data is accessible via iCloud if sync is enabled.
- Right to object: you can disable location or notifications at any time in iOS settings.
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
12. CNIL
In case of a dispute regarding the processing of your data, you may file a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL): www.cnil.fr.
13. Security
Your data is protected by iOS native security mechanisms: local storage encryption, end-to-end iCloud encryption, and optional biometric authentication. No sensitive data is transmitted to third-party servers.
14. Changes
This policy may be updated. In case of a substantial change, a notification will be displayed in the app. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
